AS9100 & NASA

AS9100 is a quality management standard developed specifically for the aerospace industry. It is based on the ISO 9001 standard but includes additional requirements specific to aerospace organizations, such as those related to product safety, reliability, and performance.

NASA, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, is a US government agency responsible for the country’s civilian space program and for aeronautics and aerospace research. NASA has its own set of quality requirements, including the NASA Procedural Requirements (NPR) and the NASA Technical Standards System (NTSS).

In order to do business with NASA, suppliers must meet the agency’s quality requirements. AS9100 certification can help suppliers meet these requirements and demonstrate their commitment to quality management.

This certification helps ensure that the suppliers have a robust quality management system in place, which is essential for producing reliable, safe, and high-quality aerospace products and services.
